DTAL Conference 2024

This workshop will briefly overview the four domains of cultural competency outlined by the Virginia Board of Education. Participants will then explore specific strategies and resources aligned to Domain 2 - Pedagogy and Practice and make connections to key standards within the VBCPS Evaluation tools. Through the exploration of asset-based thinking, participants will explore a strategy to leverage student strengths, examine pathways that respond to learners' interests and needs, and reflect on a feedback tool that supports students to reflect and think critically. This course is one of many opportunities to fulfill the cultural competency training requirement for licensed staff.
